Some good advice… although I think #1 is wrong. Social media has changed everything because it has put the power of communications into the hands of consumers. It has changed the balance of power. And social media has also allowed smaller businesses to be successful in terms of connecting with a wider audience than they could afford before.
Social media is just a tool, however. Connecting with customers isn’t new. It’s just the network of communications that has changed - customer to customer, customer to business, business to business. Much more wide-spread than it was when you had to meet in person or talk by phone or by expensive advertising.

Unfortunately, this is a wake up call for a lot of people. These types of applications seem to be needed for most people to understand what we’re talking about in terms of a privacy issue. I still think someone needs to make a blog or app that announces all of Zuckerberg’s private info that is gleaned from his network of contacts, etc. Maybe he’ll then understand what the rest of us are worried about.
I called this one…. Luckily the EC is pretty serious about privacy issues. Hopefully they’ll convince Facebook of the need for more control by users.
Wondering if Europe will smack Facebook for privacy issues before the US does anything… they seem to have more stringent rules (which may be a good thing for everyone).
